Self care isn’t selfish.
Life is demanding and can be draining.
We need to recharge so we can continue to give our best to the ones we love.
You are worth it and there is nothing this world needs more than for you to be the best you that you can be.
Ideas for quality self care:
- Sit and enjoy a cup of coffee. Every sip.
- Slow down, pray, and meditate on today’s goals.
- Exercise or stretch
- Listen to a podcast, read a book, have a devotion.
- Spend quality time with a loved one.
- Go for a walk
- Light a candle and take a bubble bath
- Take a power nap
- Pamper yourself. Hair, nails, facial mask, etc.
- Laugh
- Unplug
- Listen to music
- Treat yourself, cook comfort food, have dessert.
When we don’t take care of ourselves, we simply can’t take care of others.
We get careless and less considerate.
We stress and have panic attacks.
We envy others.
We bark at the family quicker.
We allow the joy God gives us to be sucked from our own lives.
Self care allows us to improve in our health, our productivity, and our ability to give back.
Strengthen your mind, body and soul today.
“Self care isn’t selfish” Thank you for the reminder. Christians are shooting to live a life of service so it’s easy to burnout, but we have to remember to take care of ourselves. Thanks!

Thanks. Maybe I will? Full time work, blogging, and kids make it a tight rope walk.

You’re not alone. Do everything without grumbling, you are working for the Lord. I tell my kids that sometimes mommy needs a timeout 😉. It is easier to say than do.

Yes, but it’s still good advice. 🙂

Getting up early so I don’t have to rush through my morning routine has really helped me feel more grounded and less stressed, if a bit tired.

Many times we tend to neglect this simple truth. We often tend to seek for the glory but limit our preparation. Jesus took 30 years to prepare for 3 years.

You’re right. I have taken about a week or so off so that I could get some rest and I know it is most beneficial When I do this occasionally. Thank you for your encouragement.

Great self help ideas! I’m getting better at taking care of myself, but I could definitely use a lot of these ideas to keep me healthy. You’re right, when im depleted, I get snappy and can’t deal with the family well.

I apologize a lot too and I hope that’s a good teaching tool for them!
It only showed me one follow 🙂 I liked your recap email. I need to go through the list.

I think that apologizing definitely teaches children a few things, especially in the society we are in now.
And good. Thank you! I enjoyed the recap myself. 🙂
