Wholesome Wednesday | Are You Thankful?

Yeah, the work week is long and you and I are both tired. We endlessly meet the demands of our calendars and our callings. We may have been let down recently or dread an upcoming event. Maybe you are like me and failed in one area or another this week.

You can always find a reason to be hard on yourself and there will always be something to complain about.

But have you stopped to be thankful?

Have you thought about your blessings and intentionally thanked God for them? Whether big or small (which is in the eye of the beholder) we have so much to be thankful for. We are a blessed nation! You and I are so immensely fortunate. Amen?

I want to challenge you, as I have myself, to think about a few things today that you are thankful for. Praise God for the big and the small. Praise Him for the closed doors — and the ones open or to become open. Thank Him for the uncomfortable and how it will help you to grow. Thank Him for the sorrow and grief, for the godliness you can gain from it.

Give God a moment today to Praise Him and tell Him of His greatness for He has made all things good for those who love Him.

Feel free to share with me what you are grateful for today below. ❤

I am thankful for:
My family. Our health. Our two feet, two ears, two eyes, and having our five senses. I am thankful for our stable careers and our future. I am thankful for the roof over our head, clothes on our bodies, and the ability to participate in many things. I am thankful for His church and the people. Of course, for my salvation and His grace. Yes, I am so thankful for this and so much more including the ‘little’ things like the beautiful sunshine, laughter, coffee and dry shampoo.

  1. Sometimes, I literally pray “Lord, thank you for all my blessings, even when I take them all for granted.” Also, as a white girl with hair that’s essentially greasy by default, I, too, thank God for dry shampoo!

  2. It’s so true! It’s easy to be focused on everything, everyone, and our problems, too, but…when are we thankful? I have been striving to be more aware of the big and the small. 🙂

  3. This is very good! Yes, it is always good for us to be reminded to be thankful in all things. For, life can get really hard sometimes, and we can focus on the tuff stuff and it can get us down. But, when we learn to praise the Lord and to thank him in all things, and to be grateful for what he has given us, even our trials and tribulations, then it changes our perspective and our attitudes and our hearts, and it puts us on the right track. I know that I need this reminder regularly, and I suspect that I am not alone in this. So, thank you!

    1. You’re welcome. Thank you for those encouraging words – I appreciate your comments and yes I absolutely agree that our perspective changes as we g through difficulties and learn to appreciate them. The Lord is constant and ever lasting so we can trust in Him in all things and be forever grateful of His mercies! Thank you again Sue.
