Just be held

Hold it all together
Everybody needs you strong
But life hits you out of nowhere
And barely leaves you holding on
And when you’re tired of fighting
Chained by your control
There’s freedom in surrender
Lay it down and let it go
So when you’re on your knees and answers seem so far away
You’re not alone, stop holding on and just be held
Your world’s not falling apart, it’s falling into place
I’m on the throne, stop holding on and just be held
Just be held, just be held
If your eyes are on the storm
You’ll wonder if I love you still
But if your eyes are on the cross
You’ll know I always have and I always will
And not a tear is wasted
In time, you’ll understand
I’m painting beauty with the ashes
Your life is in My hands
What a beautiful reminder that we can turn to Christ at any given moment. No matter what we are fighting, we can lay it at His feet and He will break the chains. There is freedom in Christ. Amen?! Psalm 107:13-14 says:
“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of the darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces.”

We cannot find this help in man or in the strength of our own selves, but in His mercy and grace alone. We have a forgiving God, a merciful God…  a God that loves us and longs for us to desire Him. We need to trust and hold on tightly to the promises that He will never forsake or leave us. Hebrews 13:5.

If you are feeling weak, helpless or far from Him, He isn’t the one that has moved… we have. So often we think we can go through our daily life and only call on Him when we need Him here or there. We rely on our own plans and forget who determines our steps. Psalms 16:9. Who are we to think we have that power or that strength to do that? There is no better way than His way and there is no greater love than His love for us.

Stop holding on and just be held.
